We specialize in ear cropping of numerous breeds, including but not limited to: Boxers, Doberman Pinschers, Great Danes, Schnauzers, American Pit Bull, American Bully, and Cane Corsos. Based off your preference, we shape the ears and teach them to stand. We generally like to perform surgery before 4 months of age.
What to expect for your first ear cropping appointment. During your exam, our veterinarians will assess the ears and the health of your pet to make sure there is no serious reason why your pet cannot have the surgery. We require a $50 deposit to hold your surgery time, which goes towards the total cost of surgery.
Your pet will go home in full head wraps, like a “helmet”, to protect the ears while they heal. This “helmet” will remain on your pet for 6 to 8 days at which time your will return for us to remove the wraps and re-assess the ears to determine when stitches should be removed.
We will gradually teach the ears to stand and teaching the muscles and cartilage to stand. We will leave these ear wraps on for about 5 to 10 days then rest for 2 days. This process will continue until the ears stands, which varies based on the length of the ears and the ability of the dog.
